Ancient Symposium
A reconstructed Greek symposium with a philosopher, candlelight and natural wines.
Recline, drink, converse. A private dining room becomes a Platonic symposium for the evening. A philosopher leads the conversation; a sommelier pours the wines; a chef cooks a menu drawn from ancient sources, reinterpreted.

The Greeks invented the dinner party as a form of thought. We restore it — a private guide, a sommelier, an archaeologist, and a long table of wines, dishes and ideas drawn from antiquity and reinterpreted for the present evening.
Small groups of friends, wine lovers, anyone who treats dinner as the day's main event. Those who love gathering their own table at home.
How each of the five senses is engaged through the course of the experience.
- Sight
- Candlelight on bronze, dark wine in clear glass, hands gesturing across linen.
- Sound
- Conversation rising and falling, a lyre or low jazz, the pour of wine.
- Scent
- Roasting lamb, lemon zest, beeswax, oak from the cellar.
- Taste
- Resin-touched whites, aged xinomavro, honey and walnut, mastiha at the close.
- Touch
- Heavy stemware, hand-thrown ceramics, a wool throw as the evening cools.
